Spring is in the air! When I sat down with my morning coffee today, the sound of birds chirping was like music to my ears! The robins are back, my hyacinths are growing, and listing numbers are (slowly) on the rise. After months of record low housing inventory and a white-hot seller’s market, the slight increase in inventory, along with a forecasted rise in interest rates and the government promised “cooling off period”, hopefully, means that buyers will soon have a bit of a reprieve from this intensely competitive market.

When every sale seems to be setting a new record price for the area, you would think that all sellers would be thrilled, as weary buyers battle it out to be the lucky winner of the multiple offer frenzy. While this is mostly true, sometimes a market like this can feel paralyzing for those sellers moving up the property ladder, as they become both the all-powerful Emperor and the bloody and bruised Gladiator in the same week.

Reaching your Real Estate goals has nothing to do with luck – though some people may consider that those buyers who emerged victorious in a competitive multiple offer situation got “lucky” – I promise you that they had a plan.
