Spring Cleaning Tips
Spring has officially arrived! With the 2021 behind us and the daylight sticking around longer, the promise of April showers and May flowers is close. With the new season coming up, spring cleaning might be on your mind, and we have a few tips and tricks to making your home as fresh as ever.
Invest in a great cleaning kit
An assortment of scrub brushes, cloths and supplies makes it easy to keep everything you need all in one place. We love the Lysol brand scrub brushes from Dollarama (they come in a two pack!) and a good set of cloths specifically for glass and stainless steel. For less of an impact on the environment, we love everything about Nature Bee Clean, a local company from Vancouver Island with everything from hand soaps to cleaners.
Mop to it!
We’ve spent a lot of time in people’s homes and have seen a lot of mops! By far, the favourite has been the Vileda EasyWring mop. It has a foot pedal that rings the mop out and interchangeable and washable heads. Works amazing for washing walls too! You can snag this mop for about $40, and it occasionally goes on sale at Costco too!
Have a cleaning ritual
Making a weekly cleaning checklist can make all the difference to keeping your space clean and tidy. Our Client Care Coordinator’s family tackles their cleaning list every Friday and it includes bathrooms, floors, dusting and surfaces. The deep cleans can be scheduled around this, but keeping up with the main spaces is key to not being overwhelmed by cleaning.
Consider the bigger things
Things like carpet cleaning, duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, gutter cleaning, etc. are all necessary to keeping our home maintained and ultimately keeping its value. We have great referrals for all of these services, so please feel free to get in touch with us and we can set you up with a great service provider.
