If you’re new to the neighborhood or have lived here for a while now, you’ll know that Burke Mountain has a lot of really great attributes that make it a wonderful place to live and work.  If you’re thinking of being here - time to make a move!

1.  Being surrounded by nature is incredible.  Burke Mountain has an extensive trail network built throughout the neighbourhoods here, and is direct access to one of the largest Provincial Parks, Pinecone-Burke.  Take in some breathtaking views at Minnekhada’s High Knoll hike, or enjoy the incredible scenery at Sawblade Falls.

2.  Burke Mountain is home to some of the City’s best parks.  Whether you’re a playground enthusiast, sports nut or just love a good spot for a picnic, there’s a great park for you!  For the kids, Queenston Park is a must for the best playground.  Pioneer Park’s lush green fields are perfect for kicking around the soccer ball, and the picturesque views from the giant porch swings at the newly constructed Riley Park are a must see.

3.  We are a neighborhood chock full of small businesses.  From Real Estate to a fantastic lawyer to home services, administrative help, accounting, renovations and construction to massage therapy, there’s a great Burke business to serve you!

4.  We get to enjoy being secluded, but close to every amenity.  Nothing beats heading into the forest right from your front door...but also being able to be downtown for a meeting in about 30 minutes.

5.  Burke is a great place for families.  With the addition of Smiling Creek Elementary and the new Coast Salish Elementary slated to open in September of 2022, as well as future plans for a high school/middle school, it’s a great place to raise a family.  The future up on the mountain looks bright as well, with a longer term plan of a recreation centre, arenas, sports fields and other amenities.

There are several reasons for living, working and playing on Burke Mountain, and these are just a few.  What are your favourite things about living here?
